You will visit the old Inca quarry from where the Incas carved the rocks to build the important Ollantaytambo Inca city, the impressive gate to Machu Picchu. Take time to explore the living Inca city of Ollantaytambo and hike up to the dusted remnants of the old Inca hillside storehouses. Then enjoy true luxury at the exclusive Veronica View Hotel! On your final day, will be the long awaited tour to explore and experience the magical UNESCO World Heritage site: Machu Picchu!
Pick you up at your hotel at 5:00 am and begin the drive for nearly 2 hours to the Inca community of Socma. Have breakfast at the trailhead. Hand your duffel bags to the horseman. The pack horses will carry all of your camping gear, leaving you to carry a small daypack. Continue the journey to the spectacular waterfall of Perolniyoc. The perfect spot for photos and enjoying beautiful surroundings.
Later after the spectacular waterfall continue the hike up to the archeological site of Soqma, where your guide will give you a tour. It’s a short walk to our lunch spot at Rayan at 3,700m/ 2,139 ft. After a hearty lunch and a well-deserved rest, set out again.
We start our climb to the very first pass, Puccaqasa, at 4400 mts. Enjoy stunning views of the mountains from the top of the pass. After another hour arrive at the first campsite. Hot drinks and appetizers will be waiting for you when you arrive. The tents will already be set up so you can settle in before dinner.
Today will be less strenuous that the day before. Start the journey to the Quychicassa pass for about 2 hours to 4,450/12,599ft. Enjoy a spectacular view of the wide, glacier-carved valley. Continue for another hour downhill to the Inca site of Inti Punku, also known as the Sun Gate at Ollantaytambo. Lunch will be served with a spectacular view of the Veronica Mountain!
Continue the first hour downhill from Inti Punku to the Veronica View Hotel. There, you can get a well-deserved soak in the heated swimming pool or sauna. There is also the option for treatments at the spa.
We will wake up for breakfast with the fresh air and beautiful views of the Veronica Mountain. Have a relaxing morning recovering from the hike and enjoy the beautiful setting. We will start the day by having a delicious gourmet breakfast and after we will take a short drive to the train station, where you will board the train at 1:37pm Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes. We will be spending the night there.
After an early breakfast at your hotel, we are ready to get an early bus at 5:30am up to Machu Picchu just in time to witness the sunrise. It is a truly mystical site out of history and not something you’ll want to miss! After enjoying the sunrise your guide will provide a guided tour of Machu Picchu, which takes around two hours. You will see many of the most important parts of Machu Picchu Citadel during your tour.
After the tour, those people that have booked in advance for the extra hike up Huayna Picchu will have time to hike it on their own. When they have had their fill of the incredible views of Machu Picchu, a bus back down to Aguas Calientes will be waiting. Upon arriving at Aguas Calientes lunch is waiting with numerous restaurants to choose from (lunch not included). Depending on your train departure time, there may be some time for shopping, or sightseeing.
The Expedition train will take you back to Ollantaytambo at 2:55pm or 3:20pm, following the spectacular Urubamba River. Close to Aguas Calientes, the canyon is narrow and the river has many beautiful sections of whitewater. Trip to Rainbow mountain. First to the mountain thanks to Yair’s expert driving and special thanks to Cristian for being my guide. Highly recommend!
Our group of 8 did the 3-day Inca trail tour. From the very beginning Ray demonstrated his knowledge by answering all our questions thoroughly. Trekking the Inca trail was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life. I can say for certain that I would not have finished the trail, if not for Ray. I am not active at all, and hiking up and down a mountain, for 7 hours, seemed impossible. Within the first 10 minutes I was ready to be done. That sentiment was shared within most of my group.
Our tour guide Ray was excellent and very helpful. And we did the short inks trail to machupicchu thanks for the experience
Ray was absolutely amazing 😎 would definitely recommend him to anyone that wants to travel to Machu Picchu !!! Best experience of my life and off my bucket list🙏🏾
This was my first time in Peru and I wanted to do something bigger and better than Machu Picchu. I was searching online and came across Orange Nation's "Choquequirao Trek to Machu Picchu" , which is three times larger than Machu Picchu. Since Peru is known for a Machu Picchu
My girl and i did the Machu Pichu trek tour with Orange Nation. It was seriously the most amazing experience that we'll never forget. Gorgeous views! The long trek was worth the amazing view. The tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable.
Wow, what a wonderful trekking experience! My trip to Peru was amazing thanks to this awesome tour that i took with Orange Nation. I did multiple tours with this company. I'm a solo traveler and everyone in my group was always still friendly and did not make me feel left out.
